The 2021-2022 softball program is off to a great start this year. After a multi-year absence from St. Mary’s, Coach Mike Espinoza is back on the field leading the Lady Knights, and he couldn’t be happier to be back where he belongs and doing what he loves.
Under Coach Espinoza’s leadership, the team has taken some great strides forward over the past few months. The varsity softball team is currently 5-8 (4-2 in season).
The Lady Knights have played in two tournaments so far this season. In the Agua Fria tournament, the team finished in third place after a close game with Peoria High School. The Lady Knights have had two in-season victories over Coronado High School and Cortez High School. Seniors Miranda Castro and Allie Chavez are currently ranked #1 and #2 (respectively) in the Skyline region for their strong batting.
