Girls Varsity Volleyball Goes to Playoffs for Fourth Year

St. Mary’s Girls Volleyball program had a fantastic 2021-2022 season, finishing with a record of 21-12 (9-8 in season) and ranked #15 in the 4A conference and #3 in the Skyline Region. The Knights achieved impressive victories over Poston Butte (3-1), Moon Valley (3-0), Tempe (3-0), and Shadow Mountain (3-0 ) on their way to earning a spot in the playoffs for the fourth year in a row.  In the post-season, the Knights lost in the first round to Canyon Del Oro.                       

 At the JV and freshmen levels, the Knights continued to build for the future with the JV squad finishing their season at 9-9 and the Freshmen finishing at 14-4.

 At the end of the season, several Knights were ranked within the Skyline Region for outstanding performances in individual categories:

Ella Fahrendorf (senior) -- #1 in blocks, #2 in hitting, and #4 in kills

Shelbie Lemm (sophomore) -- #3 in hitting, #3 in kills, and #5 in diggs

 Zoe Rideau (junior) --#5 in hitting, #8 in kills

Spirit Phipps (senior) – #10 in hitting, #5 in kills, #8 in assists, and #3 in digs

Michele Galindo (senior) --  #3 in assists, #2 in aces

Jessica Rayner (junior) -- #5 in assists

Tahlia Footracer (senior) -- #6 in blocks

Additionally, Shelbie Lemm and Ella Fahrendorf were both named to the First Team, All-Region.
